Earth Mother Protection Free Speech–Stop Shale Oil… Stop Shale
Gas… Stop Tar Sands…

Thursday, April 4, 2013, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM

SUNY Canton College, Roselle Plaza, Canton, NY USA

The United States is a major consumer of fossil fuels.  The oil, gas, coal and petrochemical industries of the United States are promoting increased fuel consumption and increased exploitation of shale gas, shale oil, coal and tar sands to satisfy the demands of increased consumption.  These are environmentally destructive energy resource extraction activities.
Exploitation of these energy resources contributes tremendously to global climate change. Utilization of these fuel resources is a heavy source of releases of carcinogenic pollutants including:  soot particulates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), benzene and formaldehyde.  The corporate sectors named above and corrupt national and state governments in the United States are abusing our Earth Mother.

It is time for the Americans who care about the Earth and the inhabitants
of the Earth to begin demonstrating their resistance to shale gas, shale
oil, coal and tar sands extraction.  Speaking out against the exploitation
of these forms of energy is an honorable way to express this resistance.

I will be exercising my freedom of speech on the Canton College campus
to express my disapproval of the energy extraction practices named
above.  My free speech will demonstrate my resistance to the
environmentally ruinous energy extraction activities of the United States.
I am hopeful that fellow Americans will hear what I say and begin to speak
freely themselves.  I am hopeful that American college students will begin
to express their resistance to the actions of bad corporations and bad
government.  This is the path of creating a non-violent revolution that
will take away the power of the abusive corporations and corrupt government.
