Dear Comrade Environmental Protection Activists,

St. Lawrence County received considerable quantities of property tax
from GM and its employees.  The county has a moral responsibility to
insure that the business activity that it received revenues from does
not impose unacceptable harm upon others, in this case, Akwesasne
residents.  The St. Lawrence County Legislature has the power to bring
EPA to St. Lawrence County to participate in an open public discussion
on the subject of PCB exposure disease risk.  Demonstrating to the
public that EPA scientists do not have a scientific basis for the
decision not to remove the wastes disposed of in the industrial
landfill is an essential step in motivating government to remove all
hazardous waste from the GM site.

As residents of St. Lawrence County we can take an important role in
encouraging the St. Lawrence County Legislature to do the work of
bringing EPA to St. Lawrence County for a public meeting on GM PCB
clean-up.  Please consider attending the September meeting of the St.
Lawrence County Legislature and speaking in favor of clean-up at the
GM site.

Here are the details of the Legislature’s September Board Meeting.
Anyone in attendance has the privilege of addressing the Legislature
for approximately 5 minutes on any subject that they choose.  The
opportunity to address the Legislature is made available during the
public forum portion of the meeting.
